Twig and Berries 2024
Golf for a Cause : This is our third annual Twig and Berries fundraiser for Project 8p. Twig and Berries was originally created by John McGann Sr., more lovingly known as Ben's Papa, several years ago. The tradition has since been carried on by Matt, Ben's Dad, and his friends. Project 8p and our family: At the age of one, our son, Ben, was diagnosed with a rare genetic condition called Chromosome 8p Inversion Duplication/Deletion. 8p Inv Dup Del is a neurogenetic condition and similarly to other chromosome disorders, impacts developmental abilities and can cause other health complications. After receiving Ben's diagnosis we were at a loss, as there was little to no information about this diagnosis and no standard course of treatment. Then we found Project 8p, they have given our family a lifeline. Project 8p is leading the charge on researching 8p disorders to find treatment options and give meaningful answers to those affected. They have created an amazing active global community. We appreciate you joining us in supporting our sweet Ben and all the other 8p Heroes by raising funds for this incredible organization.
Rules of the Game: This is not your traditional golf tournament, but a way for golfers of all experience to embarrass themselves equally! The player will get to choose one club to play their entire round with (choose wisely, it will also be your putter!) and only two golf balls. We will have supplemental add-ons (i.e. a mulligan package, additional ball or club) available for purchase at the registration table. We will accept cash or checks written out to "Project 8p Foundation" at the event for additional add-on purchases. Prizes will be awarded for the best male and female player scores. Please don't forget to turn your scorecards in at the registration desk at the end of the round.
People will be going out in foursomes. Please let us know the names of any people you prefer to play with. Or, list "single" and we will match you up with a foursome.
